International Conference on Social Entrepreneurship

On July 29th and 30th, 2022, GCLS hosted an international conference on social entrepreneurship. The conference focused on the role of social entrepreneurship in promoting sustainable development and resilience in challenging times, particularly in India. The conference received sponsorship from prestigious organizations like the Indian Council of Social Science Research, GNLU Legal Incubation Council (GLIC), and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. It also had support from knowledge partners such as the Madras School of Social Work, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), and the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII). Industry experts and changemakers from various took part in the conference.

The event saw the participation of research scholars, professors, Heads of Departments (HoDs), and students from renowned universities and colleges. It provided a platform for the submission and presentation of research papers, with selected papers having the opportunity to be published in an edited book. The conference featured 120 presenters from various universities and institutes across the country, including PhD scholars, undergraduate scholars, research scholars, and professors.

National Conference on Land Laws and Land Planning

The National Conference on Land Laws and Land Planning, 2022 held on 14th and 15th October 2022, was a significant event organized as part of the 'Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav' celebrations, commemorating 75 years of India's independence. The conference, jointly organized by GCLS and the GNLU Legal Services Committee, aimed to deliberate upon the emerging crisis due to climate change and address the challenges of sustainability and survival and further, present profound and pragmatic solutions to these problems post an evaluation and analysis of the various land legislations and policies currently applicable.

The primary objective of the conference was to analyze the emerging crisis resulting from climate change, focusing on its impact on land resources. By bringing together experts, scholars, and representatives from organizations including Bharatiya Kisaan Sangh, the conference sought to identify the challenges faced in land planning and propose pragmatic solutions for the upliftment of stakeholders.
