Open House Session on Parameters of Research

On 6th September, 2022, A programme was organized with Prof S L Sharma on the theme of "Parameters of Research". Prof. Sharma, Formerly Professor of Sociology and Dean, Faculty of Arts at Panjab University, Chandigarh, is presently serving as Director (Research), Institute for Development and Communication (IDC), Chandigarh. The event was organized to acquaint the participants with basic principles of research and interact with them to get their views. Prof Sharma is one of the well-recognized sociologists in India and his experience and knowledge in research would provide profound insights to the students.

Prof Sharma discussed the relevance of this topic in the contemporary world and delved into important questions that piqued the interests on listeners.

The event saw the students interact and share their views about research with Prof Sharma. They also got to learn about some of the most fundamental concepts of research like what is research, how do you define it, what is knowledge etc. The interaction between the speaker and the students while answering questions posed to them or through adding more to the discussion surely resulted in an insightful learning experience.
