EURO – Expert Project In Collaboration With The University Paris Nanterre

The EURO-EXPERT Project, headed by Prof. Livia Holden, is a research project that looks at use of cultural arguments in connection with rights, more broadly considered as including all kinds of minorities, indigenous people, and cultural heritage in a great variety of cases ranging from criminal law to civil law. It seeks to assess the use and the impact of cultural expertise from an analytical perspective that does not take sides a priori. GCLS collaborated with the University for their India chapter. 9 students from GCLS were chosen as research assistants to contribute as data collectors for the project.
Contribution to the SDG/UNAI Principles: The project documents the rights of minorities, indigenous people in order to raise awareness about the same. Since the project considers multiple countries and is in collaboration with a reputed foreign university, the findings will be published widely and contribute in improving the understanding of public at large as well as sensitising them regarding the rights of marginalised sections of the society.
